Simply, Surveymonkey is a widely used tool that offers services for free as well as more sophisticated services for various pricing. Their website declares that users can create "any type" of survey, simple to sophisticated, for use with multiple platforms.  Because they are so well established, Surveymonkey has significant partnerships which enables users to use their services easily.

So...without further ado:

  1. I just completed your Simple Survey that you uploaded on to your blog. I thought that it was a great idea for you to do that because it allows your readers to get a chance to be acquainted with Survey Monkey. Look forward to reading future blogs!

  2. I like using tools like this, but I have to say I am not too familiar with survey monkey. I just recently became acquainted with it, so I still have a lot of work to do in order to become proficient with it, but I am curious about the data collection. I know with google forms you can create surveys as well, in a more time consuming process, but the data becomes immediately placed into a spreadsheet that you can use to organize and report on. When attempting to do this with survey monkey it asked me to pay for these results. Is there anyway to receive the results without having to pay for it? If you can help me here I would appreciate it, because I would use this much more if I can get the data in a spreadsheet to share with my colleagues!

  3. I too did not have used this tool from my side to survey anything, however I know about it and have used the results from this survey once. I think the data received from this survey has this option to place it in a spreadsheet and then it can be organized and used for reports in forms of charts/graphs etc.

  4. Thanks, all. I am still figuring this one out, but so far it looks like you can gather data free of charge (and it seems to be simpler than Google's services). I also used SurveyMonkey on my classroom website, so I am trying it out "live" as well! I'll keep you updated on my success, failures and potential frustrations.

  5. Amy, I have heard of survey monkey before when completing my undergrad classes but have never come in contact with it. I like the idea of being able to survey many people and being able to use just a link to get that accomplished. This will speed up the responses and more people will be able to participate. I like the fact that you gave us an example of how it works and am looking forward to more post in the future
