SurveyMonkey is Dying A Noble Death...at least here

So I have gone as far as I can go with Survey Monkey.  Most of you have watched me explore the educational potential as I tried to use this with my own students.  I finally decided to go with "poll daddy" since it was the one that attached nicely to Weebly, where I maintain my classroom blog!

Speaking of my classroom blog...head on over to it and tell me what you think!

For the second half of the semester, I have requested to explore tablets, although I'm still waiting on final approval.  I have access to a cart of 25 iPads that I could use in my class, so I thought this would be a great place to fully explore the potential of this technology. The student who explored tablets for the first half of the semester did it with an eye on training, so I'm excited to pick up from where he left off.

  1. We have a monkey god (Hanuman in Hindus) so it is sad to see a death even if it is noble. Just kidding. However, I liked your classroom blog Living workshop and learned a bit more about you. I could not believe a move from share broker to a teacher. I have not done anything but teaching so it excites me when I see big change in profession.Do you involve students on this site or you just share your ideas and works you are involved in. Look forward to see your second half posts.

  2. Thanks for looking at my class blog! Yes, all of the responses to the blog, the book suggestions and the anonymous writing comes from my current 7th graders. As for my history...it took me a long time to come to teaching formally, but I have always been teaching in some form or another since I was a little kid. It does give a different perspective to come to traditional education after having been outside of it for a bit, though.

  3. Amy, It was interesting to see how far you went with Survey Monkey throughout the first half of the semsester. Would you use it during class often and if so what purposes do you see it filling. Also, I am excited to see your blogs on tablets. They can be very helpful in the educational purpose and I want to hear how you guys use them at your school
